Metronome To Keep BPM Timing

100 beats per minute songs are usually set by producers as a tempo for dancing. Most of the pop songs you hear on the radio that are topping the charts linger around the same BPM’s.

Super producer Timbaland has banged out plenty of hits for major recording artist using 100 beats per minute or more. This is one of the reasons his music is addictive and is sought after for hundreds of thousands of dollars a track.

If you are a producer and you stick to just one element or style of production you will quickly rise to the top. WHY? Well as crazy as that sounds it will brand you as a dominating force.

Lil Jon is not a great producer but everybody loves his simple tracks that use the same synth notes and drum patterns. Jermaine Dupri is another one that has taken advantage of this. If you listen to the songs he has produced for Usher, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson or Ashanti you can hear the same drum samples and piano chords.

It’s whack to me but to the fans it’s easy to identify with the patterns and that sells millions because people don’t like change by nature.
